NMC CREES to host Agricultural Field Day on Tuesday

The Northern Marianas College Cooperative Research, Extension, and Education Service is inviting farmers and interested community members to its Agricultural Field Day which will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

The Field Day will provide attendees with an opportunity to observe a variety of crops that have been cultivated at the NMC CREES Center for Agriculture in As Perdido. These crops include tomato, pepper, lettuce, corn, melon, okra, cucumber, and squash varieties.

Additionally, the Field Day will feature brief discussions and instructional guidance on pest management, fertilizer application and management, high tunnel productions, drip irrigation, and much more.

The aim of the of Field Day is to enable farmers and anyone interested in growing and cultivating crops to benefit from the field research and science that NMC CREES researchers and extension agents will be sharing.
Those interested in attending the Field Day can attend two separate sessions on April 25, 2017. The first session will be from 9am to 11am and the second session will be from 1pm to 3pm.
