The Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence and the Family Violence Task Force are inviting community members to the 7th Annual S.A.F.E. Jamboree on Saturday, April 29, from 11am to 5pm at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium in Susupe.
The S.A.F.E. Jamboree is an afternoon of family fun with live entertainment, food vendor, games and other types of activity centers. The event will also feature exhibits by community agencies and programs.
The S.A.F.E. Jamboree is part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) activities and events.
“S.A.F.E. stands for Safe, Aware, Free and Empower, which are also values we try to support and nurture in our community to help educate and to empower others to speak out against sexual assault,” said NMCADSV executive director Maisie B. Tenorio.
Tenorio added, “We also hope this event will help show support for victims and survivors and to also inform others about what resources or programs are available to help them.”
In addition, the first 200 participants who register at the S.A.F.E. Jamboree will receive a free SAAM 2017 T-shirt. Raffle prizes will also be given out throughout the event.
