IT&E opens new branch in Kagman
IT&E president Ricky Delgado said their company is working on improving broadband content to give their customers faster service on whatever device they are using.
Delgado was on Saipan to witness the opening of IT&E’s new location in Kagman yesterday, giving the telecommunications firm a steady presence on the eastern part of the island.
“A lot has happened to Saipan since we took over the company and it is more vibrant. It is always nice to take care of our customers, who’ve been supporting us through the years,” said Delgado.
“People have come a long way from using talk and text on their mobile phones to data. That’s why we’re really investing heavily on our broadband offering, whether on your house or on your cellphones.”
IT&E had been in the CNMI for 16 years, four years of it spent waiting for approval from federal regulators.
Delgado pointed out that people in the U.S. mainland are moving away from cable television. “They are just basically using broadband to get the content that they want. Our company is very supportive of that.”
“We’re committed to nonstop innovation, and taking broadband and higher speeds to people everywhere,” said Delgado. “And we’re giving people more data to go where they want to, without having to pay enormous cable bills. We’re looking forward to this year and the year’s ahead.”
IT&E customer operations director Rob Harell said the decision to open a Kagman branch is the result of surveys they did and requests of customers.
Harell said their Kagman store would also service customers on Capital Hill and parts of Tanapag.
“We’re also looking at putting up another store on Rota. We’re always looking for improvement and development. Also, when we move in a community, we “move in.” We had adopted the road here and we plan to put up bus stops.”
IT&E chief executive officer Jim Oehlerking said it was Harell’s team who brought up the idea of opening a branch in Kagman. “It gives convenience to our customers living here. We have a dedicated and committed team that’s always ready to meet our customers’ needs.”
He added that IT&E plans to put up more cell sites and upgrade its LTE service.
IT&E sales and marketing manager Hans Mickelson said their Kagman branch is a full service store. “We’ve seen a growth in population here in Kagman and this branch will help our customers save time and gas.”
IT&E’s Kagman branch is open from Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 6pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.
