In a statement Friday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation acknowledged that its agents conducted a “search and made an arrest in response to the recent death of an individual working at the construction site of the Imperial Pacific Resort.”

The FBI visit on Thursday was to the second floor of a two-story building in Garapan. About four FBI special agents accompanied by a U.S. Marshal were seen on the second floor of Kase II Building across T Galleria. Two police officers were also seen in front of the building and another in the building’s back entrance.

“The investigation is related to allegations of a federal violation of the workplace visa system, including reports the company was systematically harboring individuals who are out of status and in violation of federal statutes,” said the statement released by Michele Ernst of the Guam Resident Agency of the FBI Honolulu Field Office.
