A new restaurant that specializes in Filipino cuisine has opened up shop in the Susupe area across Kanoa Resort.

Called Salut (Cozina Saudavel), the restaurant held a ribbon cutting on March 15 with a buffet to showcase some of the many dishes the restaurant will be serving.

“All the dishes will feature very special Filipino food,” said Leo Legaspe, a co-owner of the establishment

The restaurant will serve their dishes a la carte for the time being. Their buffet will start once the restaurant is in full operation. For now the restaurant has set their prices at $3.50 for a one-choice meal and $4.75 for a two-choice meal.

The restaurant also accepts reservations for parties, delivery, packed bento, and many more once the establishment is fully operational.

The restaurant will also be a fusion of Filipino cuisine and Japanese teppanyaki style of cooking. For now, the restaurant only serves Filipino dishes until all the equipment needed arrives.

What makes this restaurant different, according to Legaspe, is their plan to offer fusion cuisine.

Legaspe said they chose to set up their restaurant in Susupe because he could not find an authentic Filipino restaurant in the area that would appeal not just to Filipinos but to different ethnicities as well.

Salut will be open everyday from 5am to 10pm. Legaspe also urges the public to check out the restaurant’s Facebook page, Salut, for updates and information.
