Two more groups have stepped forward to offer cash rewards for any tips or information that would lead to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the death of Godfather’s bartender Emerita “Emie” R. Romero.

3S Saipan Security Service and Saipan City Taxi Association offered a $1,000 reward yesterday in hopes of helping solve the case of Romero, 37, whose body was found Tuesday at the abandoned La Fiesta Mall in San Roque.

Rabby Syed, president of both 3S Saipan Security Service, a company that provides security services, and Saipan City Taxi Association, a corporation composed of some 18 taxi operators and drivers on island, said that the amount was collected from members and employees of their groups.

“We are saddened by what happened to Emie Romero and we hope that this amount would encourage anyone who has information about the case to come out and help in the investigation,” he told Saipan Tribune. “Our members and staff are also extending our condolences to the victim’s family.”

Syed said it is imperative that justice is served for Romero who is described by her family and friends as a devoted mother, a generous sibling, a loving daughter, a dependable employee, and a sweet friend.

“We want to bring the individual or individuals responsible for Emie’s death to justice,” he said.

Syed, who is also the president of the United Workers Movement-NMI, said that Romero’s case is an unfortunate incident just like the disappearance of the Luhk sisters last year.

This latest incident, Syed said, has caused widespread panic and alarm in this “beautiful island.”

“They are scared, they’re in fear. It is very unhealthy,” he said.

With federal and local authorities working in the case, Syed is optimistic that the matter will be resolved soon.

Syed urged the community to be vigilant and work together to bring peace and security to the islands.

“We should all be careful and open our eyes to things happening around us to protect each other. That’s how we can eliminate this kind of incident in our community,” he added.

Last Wednesday, Bridge Capital LLC and Pacific Amusement, Inc. each donated a $5,000 reward for any individual who can provide information to help Romero’s case. All cash rewards would supplement the $1,000 initially offered by Crime Stoppers for any information leading to an arrest.
