PA memo on Marine relocation now open for public comments
ASAN, Guam—Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas announced Friday the start of a 45-day public comment period for a proposed project at Andersen South in support of the Marine Corps Realignment to Guam.
The comment period for Programmatic Agreement Memo No. 1 for Project J-755, Urban Combat Training Project, construction and operation activities, is Apr. 24, 2017 (Chamorro Standard Time).
The purpose of this project is to provide necessary training areas and facilities for Marine Corps combat training.
The PA Memo presents information for interested members of the public to provide comments on the Department of Defense’s identification and evaluation of historic properties within the project’s area of potential effect, as well as the DoD’s determination of effect.
Members of the public are encouraged to submit any comments for PA Memo #1 by email to criwebcomment@navy.mil.
This program provides an opportunity for interested community members to actively participate in the Section 106 consultation process required under the National Historic Preservation Act.
