Real men wear pink
Watching in silence, holding my wife, being part of the moment when Jack’s casket sunk below the Earth, was so very painful and solemn and it made me realize…”from dust we came and to dust, we shall return.”
I know Joaquin “Jack” Manuel Cepeda walks now with our God, as sure as I am that the Sun will rise tomorrow, because Jack did God’s will on Earth. He loved unconditionally, like when I first met Jack, he made me feel welcome.
He was also the life of the party. Call it charm, or call it charisma, but he was inclusive of everyone. He even had kids that he cared for in the neighborhood who sought him out. He and Char were a loving couple and the love in their relationship permeated through them and onto others.
Jack was a real man. His favorite color was “hot pink” and he usually sported a pink tank top, like the day I met him. He was proud of his hot pink look and carried himself well.
He was very funny. If Jack was around, it was going to be a good time.
Jack loved everyone, and we are all enriched because we got to know him.
I hope to be able to be like Jack and look at the world through loving eyes.
The family, his friends, and our community, has lost a good man…
Thank you Jack for your love. We will all miss you very much brother!
