NMC Health Fair on March 11 to showcase health services

Several more organizations have signed up to showcase their programs and services at the Northern Marianas College Nursing Club’s Health Fair coming up on Saturday, March 11.
The CHCC Immunization Program, Maternal Child Health Bureau, Marianas Health Services, and the Commonwealth Cancer Association will be joining other organizations that will be hosting information and demonstration booths. There will also be presentations from organizations like 500 Sails/ Dolphin Swim Club and a Zumba class by Uncle Ben’s Dance Studio.
Health fair activities will run from 8am until 12pm and will also feature a 5K Walk starting at 6am. The first 10 participants who finish the 5K Walk will also receive T-shirt prizes and a raffle ticket to a chance to win great prizes. Entrance to the health fair and the 5K Walk is free.
Those who attend the health fair can also take advantage of free health services including free flu immunizations, screenings for blood pressure and blood glucose levels, as well as free HIV and STD testing and counseling.
Participants will also have a chance to win raffle prizes from The Shack, Coca-Cola, Subway and other prizes from other companies in the community. Funds raised will be donated to the NMC’s Nursing Club to purchase lancets and other supplies used for community service projects.
The health fair is supported with the assistance from the CNMI Area Health Education Center, and other NMC and community volunteers.
