Burglary, theft charges vs 2 repeat offenders dismissed
Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho dismissed without prejudice yesterday the charges against two repeat offenders who were recently arrested for allegedly burglarizing a house on Capital Hill.
Camacho dismissed the case against Alvin Agulto Camacho and Frank Tudela Pangelinan at the request of the Office of the Attorney General. That means the OAG may re-file the case against the two in the future.
Camacho and Pangelinan were immediately freed from prison and any bail posted was released to the posting party.
The preliminary hearing today, Thursday, is vacated.
In the government’s motion to dismiss the case, assistant attorney general Heather P. Barcinas said the case requires additional investigation and that the Commonwealth is unable to proceed with criminal charges at this time.
“For good cause, the Commonwealth believes it is in the interest of justice to dismiss the case without prejudice,” Barcinas said.
Camacho, 43, and Pangelinan, 40, were apprehended for burglary and theft.
Police arrested the two after they allegedly went back to the house they allegedly burglarized on Capital Hill in the morning of Feb. 20. Police later found inside their car some of the items that were stolen from the house last Feb. 17.
