To assist with the Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s efforts to provide scholarship funding to students, IT&E donated over $1,000 in cash and in-kind donations to the Chamber’s last week.

Chief operating officer John Compton said that the Chamber plays a key role in addressing the concerns of the private sector and providing support for the business community.

“Throughout the years, we’ve provided assistance to programs like these and we hope we can continue to build active support and collaboration across our community,” he said.

SCC administrator Mercilynn Kaneshi Palec said that this year’s golf tournament was made possible by many of their key partners.

“Proceeds will go a long way in ensuring the continued development of our scholarship program and other events the Chamber develops to improve our business community and the CNMI. On behalf of the Chamber, we are very thankful for IT&E’s continued assistance throughout the years which have benefitted many of our community programs,” Palec said.

Compton added that with the ongoing improvements to IT&E’s new fiber network, supporting SCC helps strengthen communications and infrastructure goals in the Commonwealth.
