The natural beauty and landscapes of the islands of Rota and Saipan were recently captured by 11 influential illustrators and calligraphers and two designers of sportswear brand Barrel in Korea during the Marianas artistic familiarization tour organized by the Marianas Visitors Authority and Jin Air.
While in the Northern Mariana Islands on Dec. 26-30, 2016, the artists drew inspiration from a variety of tropical vistas, generating creative content and generating buzz on SNS channels with their images.
“All the artists expressed their enjoyment of the beautiful scenery of Rota and Saipan,” said MVA acting managing director Judy Torres. “They also captured various tourism attractions which will be uploaded to their social networking sites, including their personal blogs and Instagram accounts, as well as the MVA’s social networking channels in Korea.”
The tour, also documented by a videographer, covered a variety of settings: on Rota, Rota Swimming Hole, Song Song Village Lookout, stargazing, and a campfire; on Saipan, Sugar Dock, Ladder Beach, Obyan Beach, and a jungle tour.
The tour was also supported by Rota Resort & Country Club and Kensington Hotel Saipan, which provided discounted room rates. (MVA)
