Best Sunshine International, Ltd. hosted an appreciation party last Dec. 29 for all its workers who are currently rushing to finish the construction of its casino mega-complex, the Imperial Pacific Resort, in Garapan.

Both Chinese construction workers and management were treated to a sumptuous, year-end dinner at the Minachom Atdao pavilion.

“The party is an end-of-year celebration for the workers. They have been working hard for the whole year, so we actually came together to throw this party to thank them,” said BSI site manager Wu Li Wen.

The party was attended by about 90 construction worker.

“We have about 1,500 employees, including the management level. For the others that weren’t able to attend the party, we are going to organize another party for the Chinese New Year. We are going to celebrate this because most of the workers are not going back home [for the holidays], so we are going to organize a big party for them,” said Wu.

The Lunar New Year celebration this year would be held on Jan. 28, 2017.

Wu said that construction of the hotel-resort would be temporarily halted to give way to the Lunar New Year party.

“We would be looking for a place near the site that is safe, maybe around the beach,” he said.

Representative of Chinese industrial company Nanjing Beilida and the project manager of the hotel’s façade, Lucas Lu, said that he and his colleagues are happy about the party.

“So many people attended to the project. We have worked very hard, so we are very grateful for the party,” said Lu. “We all worked together.”

The casino is scheduled to open sometime in February, while the hotel is scheduled to open in June or July.
