Nominees sought for SCC Business Person of the Year

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for its annual Business Person of the Year award.

In an email message, it urged all Chamber members to think of a person who supports the local workforce, actively attends Chamber events and programs, and exerts efforts for the community.

To nominate an awardee, one must first obtain a nomination form from the Chamber, then submit the form to Chamber executive director Jill Arenovski at executive@saipanchamber.com on or before today, Dec. 30.

The winner would be honored at the 2017 installation dinner in January. The exact date of the installation dinner has yet to be announced. Nominations would be kept confidential while past recipients of the award will vote in a closed meeting.

Guerrero of Herman’s Modern Bakery (2006), David M. Sablan of Century Insurance (2005), Mark Erwin of Continental Airlines (2004), Jerry Tan of TanHoldings (2003), Alex Sablan of Saipan Shipping Co. (2002), Jay Jones of Triple J Motors (2001), Wendi Herring of PIC (2000), Marian Aldan-Pierce of DFS (1999), Joe Ayuyu of McDonald’s (1998), Ed Camacho of Pacific Financial (1997), and Efrain Camacho of EFC Engineers (1996), among many.
