NMC to highlight credit for Prior Learning at info session
The Northern Marianas College will be highlighting its Credit for Prior Learning Program at next week’s info session on Jan. 5, 2017. Anyone interested in learning more about this program is invited to attend the session, which will be held at 5:30pm in Room D-1 at NMC’s As Terlaje campus.
Credit for Prior Learning is a way that college credit is awarded for knowledge gained through training, employment, and life-experiences, as self-assessed and documented in a portfolio.
Students enrolled in the program may receive up to 30 credit hours toward degree completion.
The Prior Learning Assessment Program is ideal for adult students who wish to complete a degree while working in their careers. The typical student enrolling in this program is generally 25 years or older with at least five years of work experience and meets the general admission requirements of the college.
In addition to the Prior Learning Assessment Program, the info session will feature a discussion on the availability of scholarships for government and private sector employees.
