Northern Mariana Islands tourism ambassadors recently appointed by the Marianas Visitors Authority in Japan met in Tokyo on Monday, Dec. 19.

Fifty-five ambassadors—largely travel agents selling the NMI—attended the event, which was jointly hosted by the MVA and Delta Air Lines. The MVA gave an update on its ongoing and upcoming market programs in Japan, including an ambassador booking and public relations promotion to help drive visitors to Saipan, Tinian, and Rota and the MVA’s See My Marianas Instagram promotion. In addition, NMI tourism ambassador ID cards were issued, providing benefits from 13 MVA partners to ambassadors toward the goal of encouraging them to repeat travel to the NMI. To close the evening, a raffle drawing was held of prizes donated by Delta Air Lines and DFS Saipan.

The NMI Tourism Ambassador Program and this week’s meeting were also covered by travel trade news media “Travel Vision.”

Last fiscal year, the Northern Marianas received just over 62,000 visitors from Japan. (MVA)
