Thanks to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and the nearly 20 CNMI sponsors, Tinian children will be receiving over 600 toys and gifts this Christmas season.
“With the downturn in the Tinian economy, we anticipate more children will be needing toys this Christmas season as the Toys for Tots Program was created to bring smiles to children in our community,” said Tinian Youth Athletes Club president Connie M. San Nicolas, who is also the wife of Tinian Mayor Joey Patrick San Nicolas.
Toys will be distributed to qualified children ages 3 to 12 at the Antonio M. Borja Amphitheatre in San Jose Village on Friday, Dec. 23, from 7pm to 8pm. Special guests will include Santa Claus, Elvis Kiyoshi, and San Nicolas. There will also be a photo booth for the kids and the kids at heart. Light refreshments will also be served.
Special thanks go out Tinian Youth Center director Bernadita C. Palacios and staff and the officers of TYAC for their hard work in preparing for the event.
The main sponsor of the event is the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Other major sponsors are Imperial Pacific, TSL Foundation, Docomo Pacific, Bridge Capital, Marianas Visitor’s Authority, Telesource, the CNMI government, CNMI Division of Youth Services, JC Café, Huang Shun Corp., Chacha Poker, Lucky Qiang Store, Law Office of Attorney Janet H. King, Alfred Yue, Susan Perez, Barbara Borja, 15th Tinian Municipal Council, and the Municipality of Tinian and Aguiguan.
“On behalf Tinian’s children, I would like to thank the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and all of our sponsors for giving to this worthy cause. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!” San Nicolas said. (PR)
