Some of the island’s man’amko surprised the public last Friday evening with some Christmas cheer during a caroling performance at the Susupe branch of Joeten.

“We are here to entertain the public, [as] Joeten has been very kind to the man’amko. This is just a small token of our appreciation and our love by singing to them,” said Teresita Sorroza. “This shows what we can still do despite our age.”

The group gave a small sample of what can be expected at the man’amko’s annual concert on Dec. 20 at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center. Also on scene was Office on Aging director Walter Manglona, who wanted to see how the showcase was doing as well as give his thanks to Joeten for the use of their premises.

Manglona, said, “I would like to thank Joeten for allowing our man’amko here and sharing the Christmas joy to the community. They’ve been practicing for a few weeks and just wanted to give back to the community.”

Manglona was overjoyed at the positive comments he received from customers.

“It was really great! I didn’t even get a chance to get in for a while because people kept stopping me just to compliment the man’amko’s performance,” Manglona said.
