Visiting fighters triumph in Trench Warz 20

Four more fighters from Guam went home victorious after outclassing their respective opponents in Trench Warz 20: Full Throttle held last Friday at the Marianas Business Plaza.

Justin “Ichi Banger” Quichocho of GuamMuayThai started the visitors’ perfect run in the Trench Tech-organized tournament after scoring a Round 1 victory (via tapout) against Predator Combat’s “Tabi” Jay Muna. Quichocho used a rear-naked choke on Muna to pull rug under on his foe at the 4:28 mark of the opening record.

While Quichocho got the early win, I-Fit Guam’s Torsten Rosser showcased his MMA skills for three full rounds against the debuting Jeffery “Monster” Garcia of Trench Tech before recording a victory via unanimous decision. Rosser got the nod from all three judges Dave Celis, Dan Westphal, and Scott Thompson.

Joey Crisostomo Jr. of Spike 22 Guam also earned a unanimous victory against Trench Tech’s Nick Cruz in their 145-lb bout. All three judges scored the fight, 30-27, with Crisostomo scoring most of his points on his kicks to Cruz’s body and legs. Cruz tried to bring Crisostomo down to the canvas, but the former almost always eluded his foe. The Trench Tech standout also unloaded several punches, but Crisostomo’s constant movement allowed him to dodge most of Cruz’s strikes.

Crisostomo’s fellow Spike 22 fighter Joseph “Seay Seay” Camacho was on target right from the get-go, peppering BadAss Beach Boys K.J. “Man Down” Villagomez with solid punches to record a TKO win at the 2:07 mark of Round 1. Villagomez received too much punishment from Camacho that he was left unconscious for a moment, prompting the ring physician to check on him. Fortunately, Villagomez survived to congratulate Camacho for his victory.

Camacho, Quichocho, Crisostomo and Rosser’s victories were later duplicated by Ground-Fu Guam’s Juan “Hot Pocket” Lizama and Spike 22’s Rob “The Real Deal” Wusstig, giving Guam a perfect record in last weekend’s event.

Meanwhile, other winners in Trench Warz 20 were Franklin Santos via referee stoppage (flurry of strikes) at 2:16 of Round 1 against Jadrien Camacho; Bradlee Manalo via tapout (RNC) at 1:24 of Round 3 versus Atrion Norita; and Kiera Agda via referee stoppage (flurry of punches) at 2:19 of Round 1 over Ray “Major” Duenas.
