Rota sets several sobriety checkpoints

The Department of Public Safety’s Traffic Section will be conducting sobriety checkpoints on the dates and time listed below:

Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016:

1. First setup: 7pm to 8:15pm, San Francisco Highway by Sinapalo 3 park

2. Second setup: 9pm to 10:15pm, San Francisco Highway Lotgan area.

Friday, Dec. 9, 2016:

1. First setup: 7:30pm to 8:45pm, San Francisco Highway Sonton area

2. Second setup: 9:30pm to 10:45pm, San Francisco Highway Guata area

Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016:

1. First setup: 7pm to 8:15pm, San Francisco Highway Teteto

2. Second setup, 9pm to 10:15pm, San Francisco Highway Igua area

3. Third setup: 11pm to 12am, San Francisco Highway Pinatang

Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016:

1. First setup: 7pm to 8:15pm, San Francisco Highway Uyulan by Rota Hotel

2. Second setup: 9pm to 10:15pm, San Francisco Highway by Sinapalo 3 park

3. Third setup: 11pm to 12:15am, San Francisco Highway Sonton area

Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016:

1. First setup: 7pm to 8:15pm, San Francisco Highway Lotgan area

2. Second setup: 9pm to 10:15pm, San Francisco Highway Tatachog area

3. Third setup: 11pm to 12:15am, San Francisco Highway Guata area

Friday, Dec. 23, 2016:

1. First setup: 7pm to 8:15pm, San Francisco Highway Igua area

2. Second setup: 9pm to 10:15pm, San Francisco Highway Uyulan area

3. Third setup: 11pm to 12:15am, San Francisco Highway Teteto area

Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016:

1. First setup: 7pm to 8:15pm, San Francisco Highway by Pinatang Park

2. Second setup: 9pm to 10:15pm, San Francisco Highway by Guata beach

3. Third setup: 11pm to 12:15am, San Francisco Highway by Sinapalo 3

Friday, Dec. 30, 2016:

1. First setup: 7pm to 8:15pm, San Francisco Highway Igua area

2. Second setup: 9pm to 10:15pm, San Francisco Highway by Teteto beach

3. Third setup: 11pm to 12:15am, San Francisco Highway Lotgan area

Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016:

1. First setup: 7pm to 8:15pm, San Francisco Highway by Sinapalo 3

2. Second setup: 9pm to 10:15pm San Francisco highway by Guata beach

3.Third setup: 11pm to 12:15am, San Francisco Highway by Pinatang Park.

Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes).

This activity is part of the department’s effort to deter, detect and apprehend impaired drivers, and to ensure that all passengers are wearing proper restraining devices, seatbelts or car seats.

In addition, traffic and patrol officers will be conducting Highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser (speed detection) enforcement. (DPS)
