EOC warns of high surf today
Based on information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, fresh to strong trade winds and combined seas of 9 to 11 feet will produce hazardous conditions for operators of small craft through today, Monday. a trade-wind disturbance is expected to bring scattered showers to the region today.
A high surf advisory remains in effect until 3pm today, Monday. Surf will remain hazardous at 7 to 9 feet along north and 10 to 12 feet along east facing reefs through Monday. Surf should fall below hazardous levels by late this Monday afternoon.

The EOC is advising the public and inexperienced mariners to avoid swimming or venturing near reefs along exposed beaches, especially those facing north and east. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid sailing in these conditions. (EOC)
