Show legislator possibilities for those with disabilities

The VOICES of the CNMI-Tinian Chapter, in collaboration with the CNMI Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and the CNMI Council on Developmental Disabilities, is excited to invite individuals with disabilities who are employed to participate in “Take Your Legislator to Work” campaign CNMI-wide. We are seeking individuals and organizations to help us promote the hiring of individuals with disabilities.

“Take Your Legislator to Work” is an event in which individuals with disabilities who are employed in the community invite a legislator to their workplace. The goal is to build awareness about the capabilities of people with disabilities and the valuable resource they are to their employers and community.

If an individual chooses to participate, the first step is to get the support of their employer to have a legislative visit. They would need to identify legislators in their area to invite to the event. The invitation should be sent by the employee to their legislator once they get approval from their employer. The intent is to have these visits occur from October to December 2016 as a part of National Employment Disability Awareness and to be covered by the media: newspapers, television, etc.

The VOICES of the CNMI-Tinian Chapter is committed to this event and hopes you will join us in celebrating the success of employees with disabilities and the employment potential of all individuals with disabilities. Call Monika H. Diaz @ 783-0591 or email: monikahdiaz@gmail.com.
