TUMON, Guam—The biggest shopping event of the Western Pacific is back in time for the holiday season. The Guam Visitors Bureau announced yesterday that over 150 vendors will be participating in the 5th Shop Guam e-Festival, with more than 200 deals available for all shoppers.
This year’s e-Festival begins on Dec. 1 and will run through Feb. 4, 2017. Shop Guam features a diverse set of shopping incentives to dine, shop, and play, making it a great addition to the holiday shopping season.
“GVB is excited to bring back the Shop Guam e-Festival for everyone to enjoy the exclusive deals offered by our Shop Guam partners and to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year,” said GVB president and CEO Nathan Denight. “We encourage our visitors and local residents to download the free mobile app for a truly interactive shopping experience around the island.”
In celebrating its 5th year, Shop Guam has become the first GVB global campaign to incorporate “Smart Tourism.” Through the use of cloud computing, networking and the Internet, Shop Guam’s app contains state-of-the-art mobile technology that can deliver real-time information on resources, services and activities to travelers and shoppers.
New beacon sensor
New to this year’s Shop Guam e-Festival app is a beacon sensor that alerts users of any shopping, food, attractions and other special discounts near them. This allows the user to easily explore Guam and take advantage of great deals. The app is quick to download, easy to use and allows the user to redeem exclusive offers. The mobile app is available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It is also available in six different languages.
