The Finasisu house of public information specialist Luis John Castro was burglarized yesterday.

Castro, who is also a Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council member-elect, told Saipan Tribune that the bedroom of his one-story house was ransacked. He believes the burglary happened between the time he left yesterday morning for work and before he came back home at 2pm.

Castro he is hoping that his items will be recovered and the burglar or burglars will be arrested. He estimated the items stolen at more than $2,000.

Stolen were a 32-inch Carpo flat-screen TV, a Casio G-Shock watch, a bottle of Cool Waters cologne, a Blu Vivo selfie smartphone, a Sony DVD player, an iPad mini, and handmade jewelry.

Castro said the handmade jewelry includes a necklace made from spondylus, a sinahi bracelet, and the sinahi that he wears almost all the time.

Castro expressed anger as some of the stolen items were either Valentine’s Day or Christmas presents.

Castro said he and his child were not feeling well and when they got home at 2pm, everything was a mess.

Police responded and processed the scene.

Castro posted on his Facebook account some of the photos of the items stolen and the damage the perpetrator/s left behind.

“This is too much and it has to stop!” said Castro in his Facebook account.
