‘Disclose the paper trail’

Share

The money marshaled by the principals of the MV Luta enterprise contributed by the Japanese investor, businesses and the CNMI government remains a mystery until the court discloses the full paper trail of accounting records documenting how the principals spent and earned money they accumulated over time.

The irony is even more appalling, because the ill -otten loot by the principals would be their primary source of funds to pay for the cost of litigation in the fraud and breach of contract lawsuit, and complaints against the defendants on other lawsuits for procured services connected to the MV Luta. Unfortunately, the private litigation may trigger criminal investigations and turn into criminal charges against the same defendants by federal authorities. Unfortunately, Mr. Victor Hocog’s connection to the MV Luta, even by denying implicit or explicit involvement, still may face investigation and prosecution by federal authorities under applicable federal laws, including matters of interest by federal jurisdiction asserting official authority on interstate commerce.

The point here is, the principals involved with the MV Luta are having unfettered and free rein over other people’s money. It is possible the court would enjoin the parent company and freeze money in bank accounts to preserve what available money that could be reserved in case the litigants prevail in their lawsuits.

The CNMI government should take this matter into account, and urge the OAG to intervene for the people of the CNMI as a way to preserve its rights to collect the unlawful transfer of $400,000 The entire Legislature should follow, otherwise each and together are part of the entire corruption and the history of the CNMI government would record for future generations that this is just a normal case of impunity favoring a few of well-connected.
