The TSL Foundation donated T-shirts and gift certificates worth $1,500 to the Ayuda Network, Inc. yesterday for the network’s upcoming Stress-Free Holiday Fair.
TanHoldings corporate consultant David “Uncle Dave” M. Sablan turned over the donations to network representatives at the JP Center in Garapan.
The Stress-Free Holiday Fair will be held this Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Garapan Central Park in China Town. The activity is part of National Family Caregivers and Diabetes Awareness Month.
According to Jamie S. Ada, program coordinator for the Commonwealth Respite Service Program, “[The holiday fair] will indulge our women in the CNMI to come and enjoy a stress reliever activity.”
For parents attending the holiday fair, there will be a children’s day care provided by the Division of Youth Services and the Motheread/Fatheread program.
“We will have different types of activities, arts and crafts, and entertainment, gift-wrapping included,” Ada said. “So if you have any gifts that need to be wrapped, you can bring it down and we’ll wrap it up for free. In fact, everything happening there will be free.”
Ada extended appreciation to the TSF Foundation, Merlie Tolentino, and Mel Naputi for yesterday’s donation.
“We are beyond grateful to be receiving this big amount…for always communicating with us and help[ing] with the donation we are receiving today,” she said.
Sablan lauded Ayuda for its role in helping those in need.
“There are a lot of families that need help here on this island. …A T-shirt is just a ceremonial thing, but they got some money from the foundation that they can use for food or clothing,” he said.
