The team of Ronnel Mostales and Jeffrey Bahillo is $5,000 richer after topping the fat-busting contest sponsored by TanHoldings.

The corporation named the winners of its Lose Big, Win Big Saipan competition last Saturday during its Trunk or Treat event at the CPA Airport Field.

Mostales and Bahillo, who called themselves the “Bagoong Fried Rice” team, lost an amazing 66.34 percent of their body fat.

Second place went to “TT’s Finest” made up of Shane Alvarez and Vicente Masga, who lost 39.04 percent of their body fat. Alvarez and Masga earned $3,000.

The “Inspired by Art” team of Alfreda and Michael Camacho came in third after losing 37.48 percent of their body fat. They got $1,000 for their effort.

Five teams placed fourth in the contest and pocketed $200 each.

The goal of Lose Big, Win Big Saipan is to motivate the community into losing the most body fat percentage in order to make them more fit and active.

TanHoldings vice president for Corporate Affairs Cathy Attao-Toves introduced the concept to the crowd.

“These people made a decision to join this contest in an effort to make healthier decisions with the choices of what they eat and by exercising,” said Toves.

Toves added that the competition was based on total body fat percentage lost instead of weight loss to prevent fasting.

“Our Lose Big, Win Big Saipan contest consists of two people per team and is based on total percentage of fat loss instead of their weight,” she said.

On the day of the announcement, the contestants showed up as healthy as ever.

“They had a wonderful journey and a lot of them have been doing well,” she added.

That same day, TanHoldings also held its first Trunk or Treat event, called Zombie Run, during which they decorated the trunks of their car with a Halloween theme and gave away candies and treats to the children.
