Bordallo meets with new Joint Region Marianas chief

(Contributed Photo)  WASHINGTON, D.C.-Delegate Madeleine Z. Bordallo (D-GU) met Wednesday with Rear Adm. Tilghman D. Payne, USN, who will replace Rear Adm. Paul J. Bushong as commander for Joint Region Marianas and commander, U.S. Naval Forces Marianas. Payne currently serves as commander for Navy Region Midwest.

“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with Rear Admiral Tilghman Payne, who will serve as the new Navy Commander on Guam,” said Bordallo. “Admiral Payne’s many years of experience in the Navy as well as his experience in Navy Region Midwest will serve him well on Guam. It is important to maintain a positive relationship with military leaders on our island, and I look forward to working with Admiral Payne on issues important to our military and local communities.
