David Banes was the lucky winner of the NMI Crime Stoppers raffle this past September. The NMI Crime Stoppers program organized a raffle for two roundtrip tickets to Guam via United Express-Cape Air.
“We cannot thank United Express enough for their support of this important portion of our fundraising effort,” said Brian Clayton, vice president of NMI Crime Stoppers. “This raffle helps us greatly in meeting our annual expense obligations. We are happy that United Express shares our mission of crime prevention and supports this very important organization.”
NMI Crime Stoppers provides information to law enforcement to help prevent and solve crime on the islands. NMI Crime Stoppers has provided local and federal law enforcement hundreds of tips on various crimes in the CNMI since its inception in 1989 and has led to over 200 arrests made from tips to the program.
“Our annual Crime Stoppers Softball Tournament each year helps the operation going and with Untied Express’ generous donation we can fund more outreach materials to youth and non-English speaking NMI residents, especially the Chinese community,” said Peter Callaghan, NMI Crime Stoppers treasurer. “Only 200 tickets at $20 per ticket were made available to give our supporters the best chance to win. NMI Crime Stoppers thanks all those who purchased tickets and supported this great organization.”
NMI Crime Stoppers allows anyone to report crime while remaining completely anonymous and receive a cash reward up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. They can call and submit a tip at 234-7272, www.nmicrimestoppers.net or use the Tip Submit app which can be downloaded on Google Play or Apple App Store.
