Borja lifts Paire past TanHoldings in Dove women’s league

Paire Football Club’s Guinevere Borja was on fire in their Division A game against TanHoldings FC, scoring five goals in their 7-3 victory last Sunday in the 2016 Dove Women’s Fall League at the Chacha Ocean View Middle School Field.

Borja, who is scheduled to leave for China today to play for the CNMI U19 Women’s National Team that will compete in the AFC U19 Women’s Championship 2017, drilled his first two goals in the 14th and 17th minute to give Paire a precarious 2-1 halftime edge.

Krizel Tuazon lit up the board for TanHoldings in the 23rd to keep their team in the game, but not for long, as Borja was still on target in the second half. Borja’s got a hat trick in the final frame, lighting up the board in the 39th, 42nd, and 49th minute. Paire added two more goals with Angel Sally and Pinyarat Shankweiler finding the back of the net in the 56th and 63rd minute, respectively.

TanHoldings countered with only two goals in the second half, courtesy of Mary Kay Alferos’ shot in the 47th minute and Liz Phan’s conversion in the 68th.

In the other Division A match, Kanoa and Shirley’s had a draw.

Anna Karaoetyan and Paulyn Joyce scored for Kanoa, while Shirley’s got its two goals from Diana Manacop and Mae Ito.

DIVISION B
Kanoa 2, Paire 1
Kanoa was victorious in its Division B assignment last weekend after nipping Paire.

Kanoa made all its two goals in the second half with Jenny Lee scoring the first one in the 36th minute and Mariebell Aldan nailing the go-ahead a minute late.

Paire registered the first goal in the last match in the division off Patricia Surima’s shot in the 13th minute.

Kagman 2, Babs 2
In the first game, Babs also recorded two goals in the second half to force a draw against Kagman.

Both goals came from Manami Tadakoro, while Mary Grace Anon and Aira May Ngalongalo scored for Kagman.

MP United 4, Shirley’s 3
Maaya Sato and Kye Tamm teamed up in lifting MP United past Shirley’s in the second match in the division.

Sato and Tamm earned two goals apiece with the former knocking in the go-ahead in the second half. Tamm’s first goal was also posted in the second half, while Sato handed MP United one goal in the first and one more in the final frame.

Thereze Millare tallied two goals, too for Shirley’s, which drew one from Marilou Arriola.
