Dickinsons rule SRCR July stock races
Jude and Butter Dickinson claimed the checkered flags in the Saipan Radio Control Racers’ July race series, finishing as the respective winners of the A and B stock events last Sunday at the As Lito Track.
Jude Dickinson’s TraXXas Slash led all 14 laps of the A Stock final and finished 10 seconds ahead of the field with a post time of 2:43:71 seconds; his fastest lap time was 23:03 and averaged 27:36 per lap.
Rodney Catalla took second place with his HPI Blitz (3:13:21) just ahead of Paul Salalila’s TraXXas Slash (3:15:14). Fourth placer Jojo Saracho (3:15:78) just missed the podium this month.
Butter Dickinson’s TraXXas Slash, meanwhile, outlasted Franz Decena’s entry, while James Salalila’s Kyosho Ultima rounded out the third spot of the B Stock series. Official post times were not made available.
Both Dickinsons also came into their respective final heats as top qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Paul Salalila’s Kyosho Ultima SC-R led all 14 laps of the Open Stock final and crossed the finish line in 2:45:08. He averaged 30:32 per lap and turned in a personal best lap time of 28:68.
Jude Dickinson settled for second place in his Team Losi SCT-XXX (3:23:64) ahead of Saracho’s HPI Blitz ESE (3:25:27).
Rodney Catalla came into the Open Stock final with the fastest qualifying time.
There are over 20 active SRCR members, and growing, which regularly take part in practices every Sunday in As Lito.
The group tries to hold a daylong monthly event in their four racing categories. The public is welcome to check out the track and learn more about the hobby.
