The Commonwealth Election Commission started yesterday mailing the 1,561 absentee ballots, including 14 to the Philippines and other jurisdictions.

CEC executive director Julita A. Villagomez disclosed that one absentee voter picked up the ballot from their office in Susupe on Wednesday while two others got their absentee ballots yesterday.

This leaves 1,561 absentee ballots for mailing to Guam, the U.S. mainland, and other jurisdictions.

She said most of the 14 absentee voters from other jurisdictions are from the Philippines, and the rest are from Japan, Pohnpei, Canada, and Palau.

With respect to 85 voters who are considered “nonresident voters” or “dual voters,” they have to call CEC at (670) 235-8680/3 on Oct. 31 to know their schedule about their hearing.

A CEC administrative officer will conduct a voter removal hearings and voter challenges.

Villagomez said the 85 “dual voters” will get letters from CEC about their situation and instructions.
