Frank Rabauliman has stepped down from the Northern Marianas College’s Board of Regents. He also gave up his seat as board chair.

Rabauliman was a Board of Regents member during NMC president Carmen Fernandez’s first term. Rabauliman was also one of the board members who voted to oust Fernandez during her first presidency.

Rabauliman submitted his resignation letter to Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, who is off-island.

In his resignation, Rabauliman stated that, “It has been a very fulfilling experience to serve the students and work with very dedicated individuals.”

Rabauliman explained that although he is resigning from his position as a member of the Board of Regents, he is still dedicated to the improvement of the community college.

“Having served on the board for more than seven years, it’s time for a new chapter for me,” he said. “I remain committed to the mission of the college and will continue to support the institution in other ways.”

NMC board member Elaine Orilla becomes acting chair

“Regent Rabauliman’s passion for our students, his commitment to the advancement of higher education in the Marianas, and his dedication to NMC employees has helped the Ccollege to grow as it continues to meet the educational needs of the CNMI,” she said.

“Although we will miss him from the Board of Regents, we wish him well as he continues to help the CNMI in other capacities.”

Orilla is already looking into the future with or without Rabauliman.

“We will continue to look forward to his support and partnership as the college works to meet workforce needs and expand educational opportunities for all students,” she said.

NMC president Dr. Carmen Fernandez expressed her gratitude for Rabauliman’s accomplishments.

“Regent Rabauliman has been a strong advocate of the Northern Marianas College,” she said. “He cares deeply for the students and the employees. We are very grateful for his accomplishments over the past several years and thank him for his service.”
