MVA joins Yarmarka Travel expo in Russia

The Marianas Visitors Authority participated in the Yarmarka Travel 2016 event on Sept. 25, 2016, in Vladivostok. The event was organized by the Freagat Aero travel agency, one of the top agencies of Vladivostok, with the support of the local government.
“The main objectives of the MVA’s participation was to increase awareness of the Northern Mariana Islands and to promote Saipan, Tinian, and Rota as the best destination for families traveling from Vladivostok,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “The Russian market is a lucrative one for us, as Russian visitors typically stay longer and spends more compared to other tourists, and we continue to promote in this prime market in anticipation of their economy recovery.”
The event was held at Naberezhnaya Cesarevicha in the center of the city, an area very popular among Vladivostok citizens for its large variety of family amusements. Besides the MVA, 60 exhibitors including tourism offices of Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Macao, China, and Singapore also participated in Yarmarka Travel 2016.
At the NMI’s exhibition stand, attendees could meet with representatives of the MVA Russia team, ask questions concerning travel to the NMI, and receive brochures, guidebooks and branded giveaways. To attract more visitors to the NMI exhibition, a mosaic-making master class for kids was offered, and Saipan-da and island-themed animators interacted with the crowd. At the interactive photo booth, guests of the event could immediately receive a memorable photo with branded tablets or animators.
According to the organizer of the event, more than 3,000 guests visited the exhibition.
