Shirley’s takes early lead in Dove women’s league

Shirley’s Football Club moved on top of the team standings in Division A of the 2016 Dove Women’s Fall League after nosing out Kanoa FC, 4-3, last Sunday at the Chacha Ocean View Middle School.

The victory gave Shirley’s 2-0-0 win-draw-loss record and put the team ahead of TanHoldings (1-0-1), Paire (1-0-1), and Kanoa (0-0-2).

De Jana scored the winning goal in the final minute of the match. Shirley’s three other goals came from Diana Maniacop, Mae Ito, and Katrina Costales. Kanoa, on the other hand, drew two goals from Paulynn Joyce and one from Marrielle Gariguez.

In the other Division A game, TanHoldings downed Paire, 5-1.

Gillian Villagomez lifted TanHoldings to its first win after scoring a hat-trick. Janelle Chognacki and Aliza Norwood drilled the two other goals for TanHoldings, while Angel Sally posted the lone goal for Paire.

DIVISION B
Babs 3, MP United 1

Babs took its first win of the season after edging MP United (1-0-1).
Soledad Quan had a pair goals for Babs, while Manami Tadakoro chipped in one. Julia Ishikawa knocked in the lone goal for MP United.

Kanoa 3, KHS 2
Kanoa also gained its first win in the division after slipping past Kagman High School.
Marie Aldan drained the go-ahead goal in the second half, while Kanoa’s two other goals were courtesy of Hannah Kaitlyn Santos and Christine Beceril. Nazalie Mirzoin and Mannelyn Cabrera had one goal apiece for Kagman.

Shirley’s 5, Paire 1
In the opening game in the division, Shirley’s topped Paire.
Valeria Myers and Thereze Millare scored two goals in Shirley’s first win, while Marilou Arriola contributed one. Pangelinan hit the only goal for Paire.

MASTERS
Matansa 4, Topnotch 2

In the first game in the division, Matansa outclassed Topnotch.
Bunruang Brassuell towed Matansa to the win after firing a pair of goals. Ratree Ditwiset and Khankew Baothing added one goal apiece, while Tomoko Bogdan registered the two goals for Topnotch.

Kanoa 3, TanHoldings 0
Lanie Santos led Kanoa to a shutout win over TanHoldings.
Santos made two goals, scoring in the 35th and 44th minute, while Patricia Kebriel logged the other goal for Kanoa.
