The Crisis Counseling Program, under the umbrella of the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. and the Community Guidance Center, would like to extend its sincerest thank you to the community for allowing it to come into their homes as it offered to provide emotional support.

It has been a privilege for the CCP team to be able to sit with the families and hear their stories and their concerns. CCP would also like to thank the Public School System and all the teachers who allowed CCP to conduct presentations in their classrooms even with their busy schedules.

CCP focused on the recovery of the community while offering emotional support to families who were affected by the disaster of Typhoon Soudelor.

The program’s mission was to assist individuals and the community in recovering from the challenging effects of natural and human-caused disasters through the provisions of community based outreach services.

The CCP team has very much been a part of the different community events on island, in hopes to let the community know that emotional support is being offered by its team.

“It’s been a year since Typhoon Soudelor devastated the island of Saipan, and CCP sees many improvements toward the island’s full recovery. However, there are still homes that are not revived and families who are still seeking assistance as the program comes to a close, this Aug. 22, 2016.

CCP said it is transitioning its services over to the Community Guidance Center, Commonwealth Advocates for Recovery Efforts CNMI, and American Red Cross-NMI Chapter.

“We can’t express enough just how much passion, commitment, and appreciation we have for this program and our island home. The Crisis Counseling Program, again, would like to thank every family and individual that has opened their doors, and the community who has welcomed us with gratitude and kindness. Thank You, Si Yu’us Ma’ase, Olomwaay!” CCP said in a statement. (PR)
