UOG hosts free small business Energy Audit Workshop
Learn how small businesses can save 75 pct on audit costs and receive funding for business upgrades.
A free Energy Audit Workshop for small businesses will be held on Aug. 22, from 9am to 12 noon in Rm. 129 of the Jesus & Eugenia Leon Guerrero Business and Public Administration Building on the University of Guam campus.
Conducted by the University of Guam Center for Island Sustainability (CIS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the workshop is intended to provide small businesses the opportunity to learn about what an energy audit entails, and how the USDA’s Rural Energy for American Program (REAP) can help fund the implementation of the audit’s recommendations.
CIS received a grant under REAP to conduct energy audits for small local businesses at a 75 percent discount. In addition to providing the majority of audit costs, the USDA’s REAP program can provide additional funding for the energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy systems.
