New appointments to NMC Board of Regents, election commission

Acting governor Victor Hocog yesterday made appointments to the local college board and the Commonwealth Election Commission.

Hocog appointed Irene Tudela Torres to serve as a member of the Northern Marianas College Board of Regents.

If confirmed by the Senate, Torres will serve a term vacated by Maria “Malua” Peter that expires in May 29, 2020.

Hocog also yesterday nominated Esther Yatar to serve as a member of election commission representing the First Senatorial District or Rota.

If confirmed by the Senate, Yatar will fill a seat vacated by Josepha Barcinas and will serve a four-year term to commence on the date of her confirmation.

On Monday, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres also appointed Glenda Sablan George to serve as a member of the Health Care Professions Licensing Board. George will serve a four-year term if confirmed by the Senate and fills a seat vacated by Pamela Ann Carhill.
