Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help for a burglary and theft incident that happened at Ming Yang Supermarket in San Vicente Village.
On Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at about 10:14pm, Department of Public Safety officers responded to the incident and met with the victim, a 34-year-old local female who reported a suspect stole her purse from her car parked in front of the store. Police reviewed the video footage and identified the suspect as an Asian male, about 6 feet tall, 180 lbs, thin build, short dark hair, wearing glasses and a white T-shirt with the words “CLAMBAKE” printed in the front and blue shorts and gray sneakers.
The victim after purchasing items from the store left her purse unlocked in the car and went back into the store to purchase another item. During that time the suspect took the opportunity to walk to the victim’s car, a White 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV, open the unlocked door, grab the purse, and flee the parking lot in a dark colored (possibly dark green) SUV. Items stolen include a Brown Michael Korrs purse worth $260, a set of keys, one Gucci watch $100, and two flash drives worth $60.
