Atty. Loida Nicolas Lewis, national chairperson of the U.S. Pinoys for Good Governance and Global Filipinos in Diaspora Council, who is based in New York and the one who initiated the protest rallies on July 8, 2011 against China’s bullying, is calling all Filipinos in the Philippines and overseas to join in this victory rally.
The National Youth Movement for the West Philippine Sea (NYMWPS) has its objectives to assert the position of the Filipino Youth that fully recognizes the indisputable sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of the Philippines over its claims in the West Philippine Sea in conformity with the international law and protect the rights and welfare of the different sectors in the West Philippine Sea such as those in the Kalayaan Islands in Palawan and Scarborough Shoal in Masinloc, Zambales. The NYNWPS upholds the territorial integrity of the Republic, cognizant to the importance of the West Philippine Sea to our national progress.
Recently, the NYMWPS organization has supported direct actions, rallies, marches, and protests against China for the territorial integrity of the republic. On June 22, 2016, the protest rally was organized by the NYMWPS at Masinloc, Zambales and attended by the fisher folk of Scarborough Shoal or Bajo de Masinloc, residents of Masinloc, NYMWPS officers, youth, public officials, and advocates of the West Philippine Sea.
This movement is for the democracy and justice for the right of every Filipino in the West Philippine Sea.
This rally will increase awareness amongst our youth and fellow Filipinos and to show to the international community Filipino unity, solidarity, and patriotism.
