- A posthumous award was presented to master navigator Mau Piailug for his enduring commitment to the practice and preservation of the traditional navigation. The crew of the Alingano Maisu helped to accept the award on his behalf during the last day of the 40th Annual Conference of the Pacific Circle Consortium, which was hosted by CNMI Public School System, Northern Marianas College, and RTI International, Thursday.
