Juan T. Dela Cruz took his oath yesterday as the Commonwealth Ports Authority’s ports police chief before Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho.

After Dela Cruz took his oath of office, his wife, Fausia, who was assisted by their son, pinned the badge on him during the brief ceremony held in Camacho’s courtroom.

CPA board officials, officers, staff, and cadets, as well as Dela Cruz’s family members, relatives, and friends attended the ceremony. Federal and local law enforcement officers also witnessed the swearing in.

Dela Cruz thanked the CPA board and management for having faith and confidence in him. He also expressed his gratitude to CPA staff and federal counterparts for attending the ceremony.

In an interview, the CPA ports police chief said he has been doing the job for three and a half years now so it is just another day at work, continuing to do his best as a public servant to the CNMI community as a whole.

Dela Cruz has been working for CPA for six years now. He first started work with CNMI Immigration. He once served as a special federal officer with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Task Force. Before joining CPA, he was assigned with the Office of the Attorney General’s Investigative Unit.
