Crime Stoppers needs public’s help on Gualo Rai robbery

Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help for a robbery that occurred at an apartment complex located north of Subway, Gualo Rai Village.

On Friday, June 17, 2016, at 11pm, police responded to the incident and met with the victim, a Japanese female, age 48, with minor injuries.

The victim arrived at her apartment minutes before reporting the crime. She was off-loading her personal items from her car when she heard the suspect approach her from behind. The victim turned and saw the male suspect described as with a dark complexion, curly hair, about 5’6” to 5’10” tall, wearing a light-colored shirt and dark-colored shorts. The suspect grabbed the victim’s purse. The victim screamed and attempted to hold on to her purse. The suspect yanked her purse from her arm causing her to fall to the ground.

The suspect got into a silver old model four-door sedan with the last three (3) digits of the license plate possibly being “746.” The victim managed to get to the nearest phone and call the police to report the crime.

Items stolen include a Sony Ericson cell phone valued at $400, a beige Coach purse worth $300, a black “Burberoy” wallet, Japanese passport, credit cards, small pink notebook, and Mi-Fi unit. The victim sustained a small bruise to her right forearm and abrasions to her left elbow. The victim was treated by responding medics from DFEMS and refused transport.
