The need for more public services
I am writing this letter reminding the indigenous people of Saipan that the election is getting close. As a voting citizen, I urge all the people of the CNMI to go out and register to vote in the upcoming 2016 midterm election.
We have to change the incumbent elected officials because nothing has been done to improve our lives other than sitting pretty up at the legislature and prioritized their own agenda. Especially when it comes to focusing on foreign investors such as the casino industry.
They forgot that these investors would just milk up their pockets and just leave us when their time comes. All these elected officials prioritized improving the infrastructures of these foreign investors. They forgot about us. So whenever they come knocking on your doors, ask them what are they going to offer us this election to benefit the local people? Stand up and stop being brainwashed about jobs, retirement, etc.
We need public service to be improved such as food stamp, Leap, WIC, health issues such as medical referral etc. An example, precinct 5 area, the main core of people in this area is mostly in the heart of Kagman 1, 2, 3, and 4. Enough of bushcutting along the road. We need public service. The unfortunate residents who are not working and without cars and especially the refaluwasch community are being totally ignored. We need new and young ideas for the betterment of the people of Kagman. They are still people that still lives under the tent…these are an example that needs help. The theme for this upcoming election when the reelectionist comes or approached you and your vote that is “where were you after typhoon soudelor of 2016?” Representative Guerrero should advise his community workers not to use political banner as a sign for people to see while working along the road in precinct 5. Luckily the attorney general or the public auditor haven’t seen it. People in precinct 5 are talking about it.
