Tydingco-Gatewood re-nominated as District Court chief judge

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo yesterday announced that President Barack Obama has re-nominated Frances M. Tydingco-Gatewood to continue serving as the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court of Guam. Chief Judge Tydingco-Gatewood was appointed to the U.S. District Court by President George W. Bush. She was confirmed for a 10-year term by the U.S. Senate on August 3, 2006.

“Throughout her judicial career, Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood has displayed the highest levels of integrity and fidelity to the rule of law. She has been a firm jurist who has served our community with professionalism and an understanding of how her decisions would impact the everyday lives of Guam’s residents. As the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court of Guam, Frances has worked to make the court more efficient and responsive to the needs of our community. I commend President Obama for re-nominating her to serve another term as our District Court Chief Judge, and I urge the Senate to act expeditiously to confirm her.”
