Man allegedly bit wife several times, yields marijuana
A 25-year-old man allegedly bit his common-law wife several times during an argument and was also later found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia over the weekend.
Kevin Christopher Imaikita Esteves was arrested in Dandan on Monday night for assault and battery, possession of controlled substance, disrobing the peace, and theft.
At a hearing yesterday, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $5,000 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for May 25 at 9am.
Chief public defender Douglas Hartig was appointed as counsel for Esteves. Assistant attorney general Shannon Foley appeared for the government.
Police Detective Peter A. Aldan stated in his report that last Saturday afternoon, the victim called and reported a domestic violence at her residence in Chalan Kiya.
Aldan said investigation showed that on Saturday at 1am, Esteves and his common-law wife had an argument over Esteves not helping her in the house.
Esteves got angry and pinched her outer right calf hard. He then took money from her wallet, and bit her on the right cheek and inner right arm, causing a bruise and small scratch.
The victim told Esteves to stop but he bit her again on the back of her neck, causing a bruise.
Esteves allegedly stated he does not care if she dies and that he would come back and kill her anyway. He then drove away in her car with her wallet. She later called 911 and reported the incident.
Esteves was later arrested that same morning and during a routine pat down, a zip lock bag with possible marijuana was allegedly found as well as a drug paraphernalia wooden pipe in his possession.
When the wife confronted him about her $200 in her wallet, Esteves told her that she had spent it all, police said.
