The Tinian Junior Senior High School’s track and field team participated in the 2016 PSS/McDonalds All Schools Athletics Championships held on Saipan from May 4 to 7 and brought home 34 medals.
“It was a very successful year for the Stallions. The students placed commendably in different age group categories and came home with a total of 34 medals,” stated in a press release from Bridge Investment Group, LLC, which supported the squad.
Leading parent coordinator and volunteer Julian Hofschneider, along with another fellow parent volunteer Eptis Epity, started preparing and training as many as 25 students for this event since January this year.
Bridge Investment Group supported the team by purchasing 26 sets of uniforms for the Stallions, including the coaches and parent chaperones.
“As you’re very much aware, being from a small island does not provide enough exposure to our children and these types of opportunities will show our students that, regardless of where they come from, with perseverance and hard work, they can just be as good, or even better as others. It will hopefully give them the self-confidence to tackle any situation that they face in life. So, Thank you BIG for supporting our young athletes,” Hofschneider said. (PR)
