Jungle Love, one of Korea’s new reality dating shows, has arrived in the Northern Mariana Islands for a 16-day shoot that will result in $18 million in advertising exposure for this western Pacific beach resort destination.

Jungle Love is produced by Sim Story Production and will air on MBC TV, one of three major network TV channels in Korea. The show features participants searching for true love while trying to survive in a wild jungle. Five episodes of the show will be filmed on Aguiguan (Goat Island), an uninhabited island near Tinian, with 10 participants enduring the hardships of the jungle and learning to survive. Following their journey to Aguiguan, the participants will test whether their newfound love will blossom into something long-lasting on the beautiful beaches and casino resort of nearby Tinian.

The cast and crew are accompanied by two Korean-speaking staff members of the Marianas Visitors Authority to facilitate the filming.

“Jungle Love is a tremendous advertising opportunity for the Northern Marianas and Tinian, in particular,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “In addition to enhancing awareness of Tinian in Korea, it also introduces Aguiguan as an adventurous eco-travel destination.”

The filming is also supported by Asiana Airlines and Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino. The show is scheduled to air in August 2012. (MVA)
