CUC contractor to remove lead-based paint at reservoir

Share

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to inform the general public to take cautious measures when entering the Gualo Rai Tank area located on McArthur Drive, Gualo Rai.

CUC contractor, USA Fanter, will be removing lead-based paint at the Gualo Rai water reservoir, which is the first step of the reservoir removal process. USA Fanter will be taking all necessary precautions to minimize any particles of lead from entering the surroundings by placing a large tarp to enclose the construction site. Allied Pacific Environmental Consulting, Inc. (ApEC) has been hired to monitor the lead-based paint  abatement process.

Residents who live near the reservoir are also advised to stay 50 feet away from the construction site. The removal process is scheduled to begin on Friday, May 6, 2016, and is estimated to be completed within two weeks. For more information, contact the CUC Customer Call Center (664-4282) or monitor our Facebook page for the latest updates (https:/hvww.facebook.com/CommonwealthUtilitiesComoration/).

This project is funded by the Department of the Interior-Office of Insular Affairs through the CNMI CIP Office.
