McDonald’s Saipan renewed its commitment to one of the longest-running grassroots sports programs in the CNMI.

McDonald’s turned in $3,000 donation to Northern Marianas Athletics for the 2016 PSS/McDonad’s All Schools Athletics Championships, which will feature the future of the sport in the Commonwealth as hundreds of student-athletes compete in running, throwing, and jumping events from May 4 to 7 at the Hopwood Junior High School.

“This is our 12th year of supporting the All Schools competition and we are always happy to help and provide some worthwhile and healthy activities for our kids,” McDonald’s Saipan general manager Marcia Ayuyu said.

“We will continue to help in whatever way we can as this is our way of giving back to the community who has been very good to us,” Ayuyu added.

NMA, through its president Ray Tebuteb, expressed their gratitude to McDonald’s for the continued partnership.

“We would like to thank McDonald’s for their continued commitment to our program. It’s always great and fun to see our student-athletes enjoy competing. It gives us satisfaction knowing that we are able to discover and train young athletes through the help of McDonald’s and our other supporters,” said Tebuteb, who was joined in the donation turnover ceremony by NMA secretary general Robin Sapong and head coach Elias Rangamar.
